The following sports program, we offer in cooperation with our sister hotel Palm Beach, which you will reach within five minutes walking.
11.30 am We will offer a Tai Chi session in the Palm Beach garden. Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art. Tai Chi is typically practised for a variety of reasons: its soft martial techniques, demonstration competitions, health and longevity. Consequently, there exist a multitude of training forms, both traditional and modern, which correspond to those aims.
3.00 pm Please take part in the yoga-stretching program in the Palm Beach garden. Many of the in yoga practised exercises involve an extensive stretching, that relaxes muscles and releases possible tensions at the same time. A routine of yoga exercises helps us to keep our weight under control and lets us build up a mental and physical fitness level.
4.30 pm For our sport-enthusiastic guests, we offer water aerobics in the afternoon in our salt water pool. Water aerobics is an activity, that takes place in the flat water of swimming pools, thermal and therapeutic baths. At this juncture the upwelling of the water is alleviating the main movements. Water aerobics can therefore be seen as a good alternative to regular aerobic.

Holy Thursday is the fifth day of the Holy Week before Easter, the latter called Semana Santa in Spanish. It is the last night where Jesus had his last dinner with the 12 apostles.
During the entire Holy Week Christians all over the world remember Jesus’ life and his painful death at the cross.
During the following days, we would like to introduce you to typical customs and traditions of the Semana Santa in Spain.

12.30 pm Today we will offer you to taste our specialties at the Pool Bar: rice and risottos.
3.00 pm Yoga in the Hotel Palm Beach.
3.30 pm We invite you to join us for coffee and tea on the terrace of our Piano Bar. Enjoy typical Canarian pastries like aniseed cakes and “Truchas” of sweet potato or with “cabello de ángel”.
4.30 pm Fancy some exercise? We offer water aerobics with music in our salt water pool.
6.30 pm Dinner in our restaurant and on the terrace. We will spoil you with a delicious 4-course menu.
8.30 pm Live music in the Piano Bar.
On Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion, it is common almost everywhere to forego eating dishes containing meat. In consequence, people on Gran Canaria typically eat ‘Sancocho canario’, or ‘Cazuela’, a local dish consisting of brined fish, potatoes, e.g., Papas Arrugadas or sweet potatoes and red Mojo-sauce. In some cases, people also serve Pella de Gofio, which is roasted and cooked maize meal in fish stock mashed with a banana. Additionally, we offer delicious fish and seafood dishes such as salad, soup, grilled or from the oven.

9.00 pm Enjoy live music with “Los Tenores¨ in the Piano Bar.
12.30 pm Today our chef will pamper you with new interpretations of ragouts and stews.
3.30 pm Tea time on the Piano Bar terrace. Today you can look forward to traditional Easter cakes and “Babas” with canarian rum.
6.30 pm Barbecue buffet on the terrace and in the restaurant, accompanied by traditional Canarian music.
8.30 pm Live music in the Piano Bar.
9.00 pm Fiery rhythms on our Piano Bar terrace. Let us entertain you with flamenco dancers.
Of course, Easter Sunday is celebrated in Spain just like in other Christian countries as well. The rise of Jesus from his death and the end of the fasting period are reason to commemorate this special day with delicious food like sweet yeast breads, Mona de Pascua in Spanish, in which one can find an embedded egg in the centre or along the edges. The custom of the typical egg on Easter can be traced back into the ancient times. Already back than the egg was a symbol for fertility and renascence, because behind every shell a new life is waiting. By that, the image of the Easter egg was spread throughout the entire Christianity.

Easter Monday, which only exists in some areas of Spain, closes the Holy Week, or Semana Santa. This day also commemorates the praise of Jesus and his resurrection. In some families, lamb dishes are served for lunch or dinner, or small cakes in form of a lamb are eaten for breakfast. The lamb and its white coat symbolize the purity, innocence and vulnerability of Jesus. Already before the medieval age, freshly slaughtered lamb meat was put under the altar to let it sanctify. Later on, it became more common to substitute the lamb with chicken, pheasant or capon and again later the alternative of a lamb as cake also took place.
